My Story

Untitled_Artwork.jpeg

Hello! I’m Bronwyn, an artist from Michigan who grew up loving to draw and managed to make it into a business. I graduated during the COVID-19 pandemic from CCS with a degree in Advertising and Graphic Design.

I started reading as a way to keep my mind busy during lockdown. Surprisingly, I wasn’t a big reader as a kid, but as a super nerdy person, I thought it would be a good idea to start reading stuff I already understood such as Star Wars. At first, I started out reading 10 pages a day and now I read over 100 books a year. Overtime I started to struggle with book depression. As an artist, I found that the best way to have more time with the characters I love was to draw them. I didn’t have much time to draw because I had a full-time job at an advertising agency.

I was constantly dealing with artistic burnout and struggling to feel fulfilled by the work that I was creating. The advertising world is deeply rooted in selling false information, and I found it hard to start each day by selling lies and having no creative freedom. But I felt better whenever I had time to read and draw. Reading was my escape.

In February of this year, I was let go from the Ad Agency and I struggled for a while because I thought my worth was rooted in having that job. However, it turned out to have a bright side; I had much more free time than I was used to. I started picking up more books and drawing more. I began posting my art to connect with others who were interested in what I was into on social media, and I never expected to get any followers, let alone the following that I have now.

To anyone who has read through this entire thing all the way to this point: thank you for letting me share my story and thank you for supporting me.

Currently, I am working at a local print shop in my own neighborhood. I have been printing everything in my online store strictly through them. So remember that not only are you supporting a woman owned business, but you’re also supporting a local printing business as well and I can’t thank you all enough.
